I am a consultant at the Software Improvement Group, an independent consulting firm specializedin measuring software quality and helping clients to improve it. Before that, I was a management consultant in Business Technology at McKinsey & Company, working from the Amsterdam office. As a personal interest I am involved in Newventure, a business plan competition.

Before that I was a PhD student at the University of Liverpool, researching Logic, Game Theory and Multi Agent Systems in the Department of Computer Science. In my last year I was a visiting researcher to the Institute for Logic, Language and Computation(ILLC) at the University of Amsterdam. Before that I studied Mathematics and Cognitive Artificial Intelligence at the Universiteit Utrecht.

In Utrecht I have been teaching assistant for several courses in computer science, mathematics, linguistics and philosophy. In Liverpool I have assisted in several computer science courses, organised the practical sessions for two courses, and have given guest lectures. I have been a guest lecturer in the master course Logic and Games at the ILLC, University of Amsterdam.

I am interested in computer programming and know several programming languages, such as Java, C, C++, Perl, Forth, Postscript, Python, Prolog, Haskell and PHP. My language of choice is Java and I have published several programs on my website.


For several years I have been playing the euphonium and the trombone. In Liverpool I have started doing karate (shotokan). Other hobbies include travelling, reading and music listening. I also like to play board games.
